When is a Real Estate Licensee a REALTOR®?

Here is a question which may puzzle you, but it isn't a riddle: What''s the difference between a REALTOR® and a real estate licensee? All REALTORS® are licensees, but NOT all licensees are REALTORS®. There is a real difference, but many people don't realize it.

Just as doctors subscribe to the Hippocratic Oath, all REALTORS® subscribe to a strict Code of Ethics. This separates REALTORS® from those who have merely gotten their license. REALTORS® are professionals who have gone the extra mile to make sure that you - the home buyer and home seller- will be treated as you wish to be treated in a real estate transaction.

When you buy or sell your home, you are making one of the most important emotional and financial decisions of your life. You know that you need a professional. Someone you can trust and someone who subscribes to the highest standards of conduct. You need a REALTOR. Think about it. Then ask your real estate agent if they are a REALTOR. Someone who subscribes to a Code of Ethics.

Don't settle for anything less. After all, it is your largest investment.
