Education

The Rhode Island school system puts a high priority on the autonomy of every school in the system. Parents, community members and business people become involved on a neighborhood level in the public education system. Text books, learning supplies and materials required for the basic education subjects are provide free to students attending all school districts. Basic texts provide a continuous education from grades 1 through 12. New students register at their neighborhood schools.

Among Rhode Island's greatest strengths are its institutions of higher learning. The public and independent colleges and universities provide vital keys to job creation and future economic growth. Research capabilities have been enhanced as Rhode Island's leaders believe that the future of Rhode Island is inextricably linked to the excellence of its educational system; as it excels so will Rhode Island and its students. With nine private and three public colleges and universities, one can choose from an extraordinary range of educational opportunities.
